Peace in the Middle East

Remember Palestine on November 29th

In 1977, the General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (resolution 32/40 B). On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine (resolution 181 (II)).

This year, as part of the annual observance, please remember to think of Palestine, and the unfulfilled promise - to establish a Jewish AND a Palestinian state in the Holy Land.

  1. This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible between Oct 07, 2008 and Nov 30, 2008.

In your line of thoughts, the US should return all Texas to the Mexicans, and Louisiana to the French, and we can go forever with all the lands that different countries have won in wars, and we would never finish. The solution is to accept 2008 reality and go forward from here, and find a solution that takes care of the needs and issues of the population that lives in the area, as israelis and the palestinians, in a peaceful manner. And about the tragic situation of poverty the palestinians live in you should complain to their government they have one, you know? All their tragedy is not their neighbor's fault.

    @ mezaan-
the thing about israel though is that it had no right to do that...they took it during war and refused to give it back, even though the UN said they had to...they refused because claimed that they took the land for their own protection and even though they no longer need it for that purpose they havent given it back...they were supposed to only be recognized as a nation under the boundaries shown in the pictures above but they refused to give the land back and no one questioned it because theyre a US ally and the US couldnt do anything about it because we have so many jewish people here who would be appalled, plus we'd lose an important ally in the middle east...plus the israelis oppress the palestinians...many of the palestinians are living in ruins with no electricity or running water...

I think its funny that you associate the word "propose" to a nation that is already established by international merits. Israel has already declared independence and is a ful-fledged democratically elected and politicallly recognized country. And it's also ridiculous to expect palestanians to make concessions after their "Sovereignity is Stolen" from them.
