Peace in the Middle East

Israeli Pro-Peace Party Websites

Published December 03, 2008 @ 07:40AM PST

  • Hadash, the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality. The only party to call itself a united 'Jewish-Arab' organization. There is almost no information posted in English for this party.
  • Meretz. This is a nice looking site, but it looks like no updates has been made in months. We know that they hired some American big shots to help them use the internet, but I guess it takes time to do something about it.
  • Labor. The link is to a list of Knesset Members in English. The official labor party home page is down, to such an extent that one cannot even find a link to some information in English.
  • The Green Movement (a new party). The English language content is disappointing, given how many Anglos are part of it.
  • Balad, the National Democratic Alliance is a nationalist Arab party. The link I found for it - www.balad.org - didn't work so the one here is just for a list of MK's.
  • Ra'am - United Arab List. Again, nothing in English explaining this party's views.

Did I miss your favorite political entity running in the upcoming Israeli elections? Add it in the comments.

    Two things to note:
Ynetnews has a fact file that contains basic information about each party's platform.
    http://www.ynetnews.com/home/0,7340,L-3131,00.html

Google Translate now includes translation from Arabic, Russian and Hebrew, and can be used to gain at least some information from the parties' non-English websites.

That's a great link! Thanks Jeff. One think I noticed is that it lists the Green Party but not the Green Movement. Probably because the GP ran for elections last time. (Can anyone tell I'm soft for the Green Movement?)
